August 1st, 2020 Deputy Mayor of Taichung City Mr. Bruce Jung Da Linghu is invited by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to Serve as Chair Professor
 
    The College of Humanities and Social Sciences sincerely invites Mr. Bruce Jung Da Linghu, Deputy Mayor of Taichung City, to serve as Chair Professor to help us to further achieve the goal of internationalization. We believe that Mr. Linghu’s diplomatic expertise will effectively deepen our students’ understanding of international affairs and strengthen the university’s partnership with other countries.
 
    Mr. Linghu worked for the Department of North American Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and he also served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director-General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Canada, Los Angeles, Auckland and Republic of the Marshall Islands, the CEO of National Policy Foundation and Vice President of the Association of Foreign Relations. We believe that Mr. Linghu’s experiences and achievements in diplomatic and official affairs will be of great help for the development our university’s affairs and students' career.
 
    Mr. Linghu is devoted to increasing the exchanges, dialogs and collaboration among Taiwan, USA and Canada and obtains achievements in top-level staff visits, security collaboration, anti-terrorism and signing of a new version of privilege and tax exemption treaty. He successfully makes Taiwan a visa-free country for USA and Canada and increases their economic, cultural, tourist and academic exchanges. These achievements improve the relationships among Taiwan, USA and Canada. More importantly, the economic partnership between Taiwan and Canada is substantially strengthened for more investments, trading, exchanges of technological ideas as well as collaboration of tax affairs.
